Black Lab icing is made by Fuzzy Paws Barkery. We use it everyday on our all natural pet treats, cakes and cupcakes. You will find that it is easy to mix and dries hard. If you are new to decorating pet treats, here are a few suggestions to get you started.Type your paragraph here.
Icing is best applied when the product is cool and dry. When mixing your first batch, please be aware that a little water goes a long way. If you find that you have added too much water, you don’t have to discard it and start over. Black Lab Icing is VERY forgiving. Set it aside for a little while and it will thicken as the water evaporates, or simply add a small amount of powder.
If your project involves icing a cake or cupcakes, and you want a thick icing, add water until you get the consistancy of creamy peanut butter. This mixture also works well if you plan on using a decorating bag.
Because our icing dries white, it’s great for adding food color. Any food-safe food color is safe for pets. When mixing a small batch (one to three tablespoons of powder), add the liquid color befor you add water. We have found that the food coloring often adds the right amount of moisture to the mix, and it keeps your colors bright. If you add water first, you might end up with a thin mix once you add the coloring. If this happens, add a small amount of powder.
Black Lab Icing dries just as well on gluten free products.
Creating pet treats is a great hobby, part-time business or fund raiser. If you make something you are particularly proud of, please send us a photo. We’re always fascinated by how our fellow pet lovers express themselves.
